Warner Channel anuncia la llegada a su pantalla de una nueva entrega de los People’s Choice Awards, a emitirse EN VIVO y en exclusiva para la TV cable el miércoles 11 de enero a las 9.30p.m.
Dichos premios celebran la cultura popular en los Estados Unidos, distinguiendo anualmente y desde 1975 a los favoritos del público en lo referido a cine, televisión y música; y son los propios fans quienes votan en la web www.peopleschoice.com.
En esta edición número 38, la ceremonia se llevará a cabo en el Nokia Theatre de Los Angeles. Tras cinco años con Queen Latifah en la conducción, en esta ocasión Kaley Cuoco, protagonista de The Big Bang Theory, será la anfitriona de la gala. Mark Burnett (Survivor, The Voice, The Apprentice, Emmy®), en tanto, sera el productor ejecutivo.
En el rubro música, Lady Gaga, Beyoncé y Kathy Perry aparecen al frente de las nominaciones, con cinco cada una (a las que Perry suma otras dos, en cine y TV); mientras que en cine, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 se alzó con nueve.
En TV, varios shows de Warner Channel han sido destacados este año; entre ellos, las debutantes Person of Interest, The Secret Circle, 2 Broke Girls y Suburgatory, que ya en sus primeras temporadas aspiran a conseguir este codiciado premio. Por su parte, títulos emblemáticos de la grilla del canal también consiguieron nominaciones, como por ejemplo The Big Bang Theory, Two and a Half Men, Fringe, The Vampire Diaries y Supernatural.
La ceremonia del año anterior incluyó apariciones de Sandra Bullock, Steve Carell, Mariah Carey, Johnny Depp, Hugh Jackman, Hugh Laurie, Taylor Lautner, Ryan Reynolds, Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban, los elencos de The Big Bang Theory y Glee y shows en vivo de artistas como Mary J. Blige y Cobra Starship.
